Gum Procedures

Gum procedures involve care, maintenance and repair of the ‘pink’ supporting tissues in our mouth along with underlying bony support. They can vary from simple cleaning procedures to more complex surgeries depending upon the severity of the problem.

Gum / Teeth Cleaning and Polishing
This is also known as ‘scaling and root planing’. It is a simple procedure aimed towards maintenance of proper oral hygiene by removing food debris and plaque that cannot be removed with a toothbrush . An annual or bi-annual scaling procedure is a must for every living mouth. To end it all the teeth are polished to leave behind a healthy and sparkling smile.

Gum Surgeries
People who neglect their mouths by not getting a regular clean-up end up with severe periodontal problems involving loosening of teeth due to loss of bony support or unusual drifting of the teeth due to weakening of the supporting gum tissues. Extensive gum surgeries might be required to remove the diseased tissues and leave behind healthy teeth.

Treatment for Halitosis (Bad Breath)
The causes for halitosis can range from local causes like badly maintained oral hygiene causing resultant gingivitis or periodontitis or systemic causes like diabetes, kidney, respiratory or digestive problems. After taking a complete medical and dental history we counsel our patrons on their dietary habits, advice them on oral hygiene protocol and periodic check-ups.
